Apps like "" (available on the App Store) are designed for this purpose and are often very simple to use. 
 1. Download a from the App Store.
 2. Open the app and import the photo from your camera roll.
 3. Enter the desired dimensions (e.g., 1000 pixels for width or height). Ensure "Scale Proportionally" is enabled to maintain the aspect ratio if needed.
 4. Save the newly resized image back to your photo library.
