The following requirements apply to notarization assignments coordinated through InvestorBootz. These requirements include applicable legal obligations, customer requirements, and InvestorBootz quality standards intended to help ensure accurate, compliant, and successful appointments.

InvestorBootz providers represent themselves, our customers, and the quality of the InvestorBootz network. Every notarization assignment should be completed with professionalism, accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
These standards are designed to help ensure each signing is completed correctly the first time and that every customer receives a dependable, professional experience.
Confidentiality & Professional Conduct
Notarization assignments often involve sensitive personal and financial information.
Providers are expected to protect confidential information, respect customer privacy, and conduct themselves professionally throughout every appointment.

General Requirements
Legal Identification
Unless otherwise instructed, each signer must present a valid government-issued photo ID.
When required by the order, upload clear images of the front and back of the signer's driver's license or state-issued ID card.
Print Documents at Their Original Size
Print documents using the paper size specified in the PDF.
Do not reduce legal-size documents to letter-size paper unless specifically instructed by the customer or document provider.
Ink Color
Unless the customer or document provider specifies otherwise, signatures should be completed using blue ink.
Print Two Complete Sets
Print two complete sets of the documents unless the order instructions state otherwise. One set is used for the signing, and one set is left with the signer.
If a signing error requires documents to be re-executed, use the signer's copy whenever possible.
Scanbacks
When scanbacks are required, complete and upload them promptly after the appointment and before shipping documents unless the order instructions specify otherwise.
Document Alterations
Do not alter documents provided for signing unless authorized by InvestorBootz or the hiring party.
This restriction does not apply to notarial certificates (such as acknowledgments or jurats), which should be completed in accordance with applicable notarial law.
W-9
A current W-9 must be on file with InvestorBootz before accepting notarization assignments.

Completing Notarial Certificates
Notarial certificates must be completed accurately and in accordance with your state's notarial laws.
Common examples include:
"Personally appeared"
Enter the signer's name following this phrase. "Subscribed and sworn to me by" Enter the signer's name following the word "by." "Before me"
Enter your full legal name as commissioned.
Always review the certificate before completing your notarial act to ensure all required information has been properly entered.
Accuracy Matters
Even minor errors can delay a closing, require additional appointments, or result in rejected documents.
Before concluding the appointment, review all signatures, initials, dates, notarizations, and document completeness to help ensure everything has been executed correctly.
If you discover an issue after leaving the appointment, notify InvestorBootz as soon as possible so appropriate next steps can be coordinated.
Shipping Original Documents
When an order requires shipment of original signed documents, deliver them to the designated FedEx or UPS shipping location as soon as practical after the appointment.
Retain your shipping receipt and provide proof of shipment if requested.
Failure to return documents within a reasonable time may affect compensation for the assignment.
